Terms of Use
Last updated October 1, 2026
These terms apply to the Talelight app for iPhone and iPad, provided by Anton Mitrafanau, IE (“we”). By using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well; where the two differ, these terms apply.
1What the app does
Talelight writes bedtime stories with an AI model from the choices you make, reads them aloud, and keeps the ones you choose on your device. The stories are generated, not written by a person, and although they are written to be gentle and suitable for young children, no generated text can be guaranteed. Read along with your child, and tell us about anything that should not have been written.
2Who may use it
The app is for parents and carers, who use it with their children. You must be an adult to subscribe. You are responsible for what you enter about a child and for how the app is used in your home.
3Free stories and subscriptions
Each install includes a small number of free stories. Beyond them, stories need a subscription, offered weekly, monthly or yearly, and sometimes with a free trial, as shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions are bought through Apple and renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
The free allowance is counted on our server for the lifetime of the install, so deleting and reinstalling the app does not renew it.
4Fair use
A subscription is for a household's bedtime, not for scripts. We limit how many stories one device can ask for in a day and may suspend access that is plainly automated or abusive. Do not try to get round the app's limits, interfere with our server, or use the app to generate content for anyone but your own family.
5Your stories
The stories written for you are yours to read, keep, print and share with your family. We claim no rights in them. Because they are generated, a similar story may be written for someone else, and we cannot promise any story is unique.
6Availability
Writing a story needs our server and the model provider, and either may be unavailable at times. Stories already kept on your device can be read without a connection. We may change or discontinue parts of the app, and will say so in the app or here when we do.
7Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from its use, including from the content of a generated story. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8Changes
We may update these terms. The new version is published here with a new date, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept it.
